Hello all, I'm simply not sure what paperwork I should have? Is it like a car where the Title Company will hold the Title until it's paid off? Should I have a lien? Something that says that I'm the owner of the house? All most all paperwork was done electronically, which means I pretty much have nothing as far as physical paperwork. Does it make sense to buy a $700,000 property at an FHA loan with a 2:1 by down. According to the loan estimate that lender has sent in first five years I would be paying $200,000 just on the interest property tax FHA insurance and other things which don't go towards the principal payments. I am thinking that in order for me to see some equity on the house it has to be worth more than $950,000 after 5 years. Given how much interest you pay on the house and if and when one would see some equity on it I'm wondering if it's really worth buying a house? I purchased a new build roughly 3 years ago for around 340k. I'm in a 30 year mortgage with 2.5% interest rate. My association in my community is in the process of suing the developer regarding a whole hosts of issues. One being drainage issues and puddles appearing around houses after it rains. My mother suggested that I cut my losses and get out this house before these issues become public knowledge. This is my first home and I always thought that I would keep it and rent it out at some point. Now with everything going on I'm not sure what to do. I hate to lose such a low interest rate.
