Does it make sense to buy a $700,000 property at an FHA loan with a 2:1 by down. According to the loan estimate that lender has sent in first five years I would be paying $200,000 just on the interest property tax FHA insurance and other things which don't go towards the principal payments. I am thinking that in order for me to see some equity on the house it has to be worth more than $950,000 after 5 years. Given how much interest you pay on the house and if and when one would see some equity on it I'm wondering if it's really worth buying a house? Is my thought process correct? or Am I missing something here?
