I just bought a house with a 30yr Conventional Mortgage. It's my first house and everything is very new to me. I feel like I've gotten almost no paperwork and feel confused.

Hello all,

I'm simply not sure what paperwork I should have?

Is it like a car where the Title Company will hold the Title until it's paid off? Should I have a lien? Something that says that I'm the owner of the house?

All most all paperwork was done electronically, which means I pretty much have nothing as far as physical paperwork.

Who should I ask for clarification? Title Company? My original Mortgage Lender? (has since been transferred to Mr. Cooper)

Thank you for your help!

North Carolina – “One to Buy; Two to Sell”

I realize I will likely have to contact a real estate attorney but also hoping to hear insights and experiences from others! The realtors like to use the phrase "one to buy; two to sell", which seems like a broad-stroke statement which is not applicable under all circumstances. And of course, the realtors don’t realize the details of my specific circumstances: I purchased and paid for the house in full prior to marriage Only my name is on the deed And most importantly, we have never lived in the house as a marit...
