Purchase agreement while filing quitclaim deed transfer

Our home (Michigan) is in my partner's name alone, we never got around to adding my name to it. We have a motivated buyer who is eager for a purchase agreement.

We need to file a quitclaim transfer to put the home in both of our names, because it grants us some benefits through my new employer's relocation assistance program.

We have the paperwork started for the deed transfer, my partner needs to sign the paperwork next week and file the document with the records office. The buyer was really hoping for a purchase agreement this weekend.

Would it mess anything up if we had a purchase agreement sent over to satisfy them while we're in-process on this deed transfer? Or does the deed transfer need to be finalized and filed before we can send a valid purchase agreement?

My wife and i, along with 2 other peopl applied to rent a house, and our application says "Approved, Pending ID". Anyone else know what that means?
