Is it weird for buyer to search for signs of roaches/mice during inspection?

Trying to buy our first home here. The inspection is this afternoon, and my husband will be the main person going over anything that comes up with the inspector. I’ve had horrible experiences with mice, roach, and black widow infestations in the past and one of my main things buying a house is that it must be free of the critters. Due to my experiences, I’ve become quite the pro at spotting evidence of pests and have been told the inspector will only look for termites, not roaches/mice. The house seems very clean, but during the showing I found 1 dead roach by An exterior wall and saw those pest repelling devices that are supposed to deter pests with high-pitched frequencies. But otherwise, the house seemed clean and I found no other signs besides the 1 dead roach infestations The house has been vacant for a little while, owned by a landlord across the country, so the pest devices could just be a preventative measure.

Is it frowned upon for me to take a flashlight and go over everything myself during the inspection? Obviously, I‘d be careful to not get in anyone’s way or be rude. I know there’s no way to guarantee you’ll never have pests, but I’d feel a lot more comfortable knowing I checked myself and didn’t find anything.

North Carolina – “One to Buy; Two to Sell”

I realize I will likely have to contact a real estate attorney but also hoping to hear insights and experiences from others! I have a house in NC that I bought by myself in 2009, and paid off, in full, in 2022. I got married in 2023. My spouse and I have not lived in the house as our "marital residence". We have maintained separate residences even after we got married. (That a separate topic!). I am now selling this house. Realtors have told us that my husband has to sign the deed at time of transfer but I am not convinced since the house has not been our marital residence. The realtors like to use the phrase "one to buy; two to sell", which seems like a broad-stroke statement which is not applicable under all circumstances. And of course, the realtors don’t realize the details of my specific circumstances: I purchased and paid for the house in full prior to marriage Only my name is on the deed And most importantly, we have never lived in the house as a marit...
