New Lennar home purchase - Solar?

Just bought a new lennar home in Socal - Irvine.
We have the option to purchase solar panels for $14K or lease the panels for $100 a month.

If you have been in the same situation as us, I have some questions -
1) were you able to claim the federal tax credit? some research online tells me that we are not eligible since the panels are not installed by us but by the builder, so we cannot claim it?

2) do you think we would have issues selling the house later if we just leased the panels? 14K now is 14K less towards out down payment.

3) how much electricity did you actually save with the panels?

Question With Tricon "Pending ID".....

My wife and i, along with 2 other peopl applied to rent a house, and our application says "Approved, Pending ID". Anyone else know what that means?
