If someone had to leave their apartment and break their lease during the pandemic last year, do they still have to pay to break lease early?
Not sure this is the right forum to ask, apologies if it is incorrect. Just wondering if an apartment building corporation (big one that owns complexes all over USA) say you have to pay 2 months rent to leave early (which is in their contract) but they left last year during pandemic because they couldn't afford it anymore, is there any way around the large fee?
Edit: the leasing office and finance dept. refuse to negotiate a reduced price
