Question about fuel oil heating

Trying to close on a house that has a fuel oil furnace and tank, the tank is 500 gallon buried tank and the house is from the 70’s.

I would like to switch from fuel oil to an alternative options.

My concern is if the tank has been leaking how to protect myself from costly remediation? Would there be house insurance or something that might protect me from the unknown if the tank has been leaking?

Question With Tricon "Pending ID".....

My wife and i, along with 2 other peopl applied to rent a house, and our application says "Approved, Pending ID". Anyone else know what that means?
