Just closed and moved into a house a couple months ago with my partner, and for us it is our "primary residence," so we need to occupy it for the majority of the year. All of our belongings are there and all of our mail is sent there.
However, I travel for work as a contractor, and my next project is overseas for two years straight with only a couple weeks off to either travel back home or do something else with.
Will this still work as a primary residence even though I won't be there for the majority of the year? Would my partner have to stay in the home as well, meaning, they couldn't come with me overseas due to the primary residence thing?
