How realistic is it to try and buy my wife’s childhood home that isn’t for sale

My wife’s family sold a small house in 1995 for $195k (low even for back then) it is now valued at about $464k but is NOT for sale.

After her parents sold it the same people have lived there since 1995. I doubt they’re going to be too anxious to leave but really I have no idea. We can afford it but I don’t want to get her hopes up if it’s not possible

Any insight or advice?

Question With Tricon "Pending ID".....

My wife and i, along with 2 other peopl applied to rent a house, and our application says "Approved, Pending ID". Anyone else know what that means?
