I’m curious if anyone here has any experience on doing a cash out refi on farmland. My father passed away and the farm was left to me. I have a half sister that was Willed 10% of the value of the farm land. I don’t want to sell it, so I’d like to buy her out, but I can’t afford to do that on my own. The farm does not currently have a lien, so I’d like to take a loan against the land to buy her out.
I know there are farm improvement loans, but not sure if banks loan money for things like this. I can’t imagine these loans wouldn’t exist. The collateral is there, so there’s literally zero risk.
Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks!
