Hello everyone,
As the title suggests, I’m a USC sophomore (19 years old) and I recently obtained my California real estate salesperson license. I’m interested in breaking into commercial real estate, and my long-term goal is to build a successful career that allows me to financially support and eventually retire my parents. I’m fully aware this will take significant hard work, and I’m ready to commit to it.
For some brief background, I’m currently balancing two jobs while attending school full-time, staying involved in student organizations, and beginning to build a presence on social media. At this point, I’ve saved enough money that I’m considering stepping away from my jobs to focus fully on building a career in real estate while I’m still in school.
As a sophomore with a new license, I’m not entirely sure where to start. I’d appreciate advice on what you would do in my position—how to best leverage university and industry resources, what research or skills to prioritize early on, and how to find a broker or mentor willing to guide someone new to the field.
I have a general direction, but I feel overwhelmed by the number of possible paths and unsure which first steps matter most. Any insight or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
