We bought our house for $325k at a fixed rate of 3.00% in November 2021. Since buying, our monthly mortgage has changed by several hundred dollars, and as first-time homeowners we're very confused. We understand the general idea of an escrow analysis, but why on earth does everything change so often and by so much sometimes? Is this normal? We spoke with our parents about this and they said that fluctuations can happen but it's usually nowhere close to the frequency and amount of ours.
Here's the general timeline of our monthly mortgage adjustments since then. These figures are rounded a bit since I don't remember the exact amounts.
November 2021 - $2000
May 2022 - $1800
June 2023 - $2300
January 2024 - $2450
February 2024 - $2350
