Iam in the process of buying a home. Iam married but me and my wife like to just use my income because I have better credit and she doesn't work. I was told by my lender today that I can't use my social security paycheck as income for me because my wife name is on the award paper saying that she handles my money due to medical issues. The money only goes to my non shared account, where the rest of my checks go. Has anyone ever dealt with this. Just because she is an over sees the money ordered by a judge the lender says its not my money and can't be counted as my income.
