Is it possible to become a real estate agent just to help out my friends and family? I know I can pass the exam, but would any broker hire me if I were to work only limited hours, like on weekends?

I have a full-time IT job that I love. I'm considering becoming a part-time real estate agent to help out friends and family. If necessary, I am willing to work weekends but limited hours on weekdays for the broker.

Note: I am not expecting payment from friends and family. I have some friends and family who don't speak much English and no agent in our area speaks that language. Family and friends would prefer someone who can help as much as they can over a highly experienced Agent who speaks English that they don't understand.

My wife and i, along with 2 other peopl applied to rent a house, and our application says "Approved, Pending ID". Anyone else know what that means?
