So I am a millennial(31), about to try and buy my first home. I live in Rutherford county TN. My credit is 750+, I only have one credit card that I rarely use, but I make $21.35/hr. I work 13 hours shifts, 40 hours a week in an ER doing the best I can. I don't know where to start or what to do. I want to try and get an FHA loan because I am a first time home buyer. I'm trying to stay within an hour or so of my hospital because I don't want to cut into my sleep too much. Driving more than an hour both ways, traffic, working 13, just to try and get enough sleep to do it all over again isn't going to help me or be sustainable. If I'm not at my best how can I help my patients. Anyway I digress... where do people usually start? I'm terrified to apply for anything because of the hard inquiries. I don't want to hurt my credit before I can even use it ya know? Do I even have a chance? I need to move out of where I am renting by October this year. I have been renting from a friend who lives in TX at the moment. He is moving back and obviously needs his home back. So I now have to try and find my own place. I can't really afford to rent in this area, nor do I want to. I rented before I moved into his home and the land lords in this area do NOT care. If there is an issue, it's now your issue. I rented through college and that was horrible. Not to mention renting cost just as much or MORE than a mortgage. So what is Reddits advice for me? NGL I've been so stressed about this it's destroying my mental health...
