I am about to sign a new lease, which will be the second place I've ever rented. I wanted to take the time to fully understand this new lease unlike I did with the first one.
This is through a company that manages properties for other people. Here is a part of my Lease that I am trying to understand. This is talking about the condition of the premises. Down towards the bottom, it says that Landlord shall not be required to make any other improvements or repairs of any kind upon the premises. I feel like I'm taking this out of context, so can someone enlighten me as to what this means exactly? Does this mean I am liable for any repairs?
At the very bottom of the lease, there is a "Special Agreements" section, where it says "TENANT shall be responsible for all maintenance to interior floor and wall coverings, ceilings, electrical fixtures, and plumbing, the replacement of all interior and exterior light bulbs."
