I was thinking about the updates that I got on my house this past tax year. The trade that was the hardest to find was the well driller.
I learned that there’s a very small number that serve a very big metro area. A lot of them simply weren’t taking new customers.
I found this one guy from a county over that was able to slip me in before a big commercial project; I paid them $2,500. When I did the math and realized that they would pull in a little over $900k/year if they made that every day on my small residential project, I was floored.
Why have I never heard about this trade? I never thought about it until I had to get one, but I definitely would have learned how to do this for 900k/year had I known that it was a thing.
