I could’ve bought the house I was renting in 2019. A combination of factors led to me not. I really loved that house too. Now it’s gone from 175k up to 275k+ probably. On a cul de sac, beautiful peaceful neighborhood - it was perfect.
Im in a bustling LCOL city that’s not so LCOL anymore. I earn six figures and have never owned a home.
I want one bad but am freaking out over these prices (100k higher than a couple years ago). Is waiting dumb? Is it only going to get higher from here? Should I just accept this as the new normal and go for it?
The regret weighs on me constantly. I hate renting bc I can’t do what I want w the place, can’t own a pet, and unpredictability (multiple situations where landlord decides to move back in at end of lease, etc).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Really distraught over the missed opportunity and uncertain future
