So as I've been planning and prepping my home purchase I've been working with a mortgage broker and a loan officer for a mortgage lender (who also acts as a broker) to answer my financial questions. Both are fairly pushy about getting me to get a pre-approval from them, but I've held off over the last 8 months so that I can improve my credit and stack cash, amongst other things.
Now it's time to go through pre-approval and I'm wondering if I'm stepping on anyone's toes by using the other for a preapproval. I've already let both know I'll use each of them (and others) to check rates for my actual loan - after an offer has been accepted, but for this preapproval I'm wondering if it matters who I go with, or if anyone is going to view that step as a discontinuation of our relationship.
