Living in a dead guys house

My girlfriend and I recently moved into her grandmothers house after she decided she'd seen enough Ohio winters and moved south.

My question has to do with the deed of the house, which is still in the grandmothers dead boyfriends name. We'll call him "John." None of Johns family has ever tried to claim the house in the 5 or 6 years he's been deceased, but what worries me is that the gramma just kept the water bill and tge property taxes in his name.

My question is basically "who owns the house?!"

Question With Tricon "Pending ID".....

My wife and i, along with 2 other peopl applied to rent a house, and our application says "Approved, Pending ID". Anyone else know what that means?
